If this lug doesn't do that you do not have your accessory installed correctly. These lugs contact that larger hole in the KeyMod slot and make it so the accessory can not slide backwards. 12 Sets Locking Nuts and 3 Allen Wrench, Easy to Install. In addition to the shoes and screws for tension every KeyMod accessory piece I have had my hand on has had some sort of lug that rests in the back of the large slot between the two screws or forward of the front tension screw. Keymod Picatinny Rail Sections, Aluminum Rail Mount Accessory Set for Keymod System with Allen. This can cause slipping and wiggle also and is hard to see due to how tight most of these handguards fit to the barrel. If you allow your shoe to be too loose before fitting it into the handguard you are using it can become crooked and even though it feels tight as far as torque wise it is just resting on the edge of the slot it fits into and not doing a thing for your tension. Like I said earlier the shoe should fit snugly down into the slot, this fit combined with tension is what serves as a backer. This has been the issue with several of the QD cup sling mounts I have seen in regards to improper installation. This causes an issue with your accessory not locking in correctly and having the ability to slide loose. If is in backwards like the photo below it causes a slight space between the edge of the shoe and the end of the KeyMod slot, which you can see in the next photo. There should be no gap or space between these pieces. This allows for the backer nut, which I am going to refer to as the shoe because that is exactly what it looks like, to slide in then forward as far as possible so that the shoe rests in the machined slot that it is made to fit into. The photo below shows the proper orientation for the backer nut in relation to the KeyMod slot. KeyMod is obviously a larger hole that is connected to a smaller, longer slot with a half circle on the muzzle end. Please do not think that because I am doing a write up that KeyMod is complicated, because it is not, in fact it is probably simple enough that some folks are over thinking it. Also allows the use of Clip or Safety Lock Slings. Sling Swivel (YHM-9466) from either side. The textured front side is for superior traction on barriers and obstacles. so I thought I would throw together a write up with some photos. YHMs Keymod Hand Stop / Barrier Stop easily mounts on Keymod rails including YHM KR7 and S.L.K.® series to provide excellent weapon control. Alright folks, while bouncing around the forums I have seen a lot of people who either were against KeyMod, didn't understand it or loved it but were having issues attaching accessories.
Still, if you’re feeling adventurous or have downloaded the same installer version of OS X that is currently available on your Mac (or don’t mind reformatting and restoring your data afterwards), this will definitely bring back the recovery HD. Plus, it’s a general best practice to install a newer OS over an older OS, but not the other way around. Also, depending on the version of OS X currently installed on your Mac, the installer being used may be older than the current OS level, which might lead to system instability down the line. A downside is that you have to wait to reinstall OS X all over again. Reinstalling OS X - even over an existing 10.10 install - will trigger the installer to recreate the recovery partition. While not a technical solution per se, it is an effective one. Follow along below, as both tasks are described. There are, however, two ways to successfully restore the recovery partition. Sadly, the script is not compatible with Apple’s latest OS Yosemite, and the introduction of Fusion Drives and Core Storage further complicate matters, making restoring the recovery partition a largely futile effort. I’ve written about Recovery Partition Creator by Christopher Silvertooth, which has been a heaven send as the small, yet powerful app essentially scripts the entire creation process in minutes. While the process is largely successful, there are times when the previous recovery HD partition is either deleted during upgrade or never created for reasons unknown. Being the first OS deployed specifically through the Mac App Store, a recovery partition was created during the installation/upgrade process that contained the files necessary to reinstall OS X should it be necessary in the future. Jesus Vigo walks you through two solutions that should do the trick.īeginning with 10.7 Lion, Apple stopped distribution of OS X through the usual DVD optical media. How to restore the recovery partition in OS X 10.10 Yosemiteĭon't despair if you need to restore the recovery partition in OS X Yosemite. ] With Ventoy 1.0.52, the application comes with a GUI for Linux (it already had one for Windows). It has a graphical user interface on Windows only on Linux you'll need to use it from the command line. The application is available for Microsoft Windows and Linux. You install this tool to a USB drive, then simply copy some ISO files to the USB drive and you can boot from it with no other changes (so without having to reformat the USB drive every time you want to create a bootable USB drive, and without having to extract the ISO file contents). If you choose to map to an existing attribute, you will need to manually populate this number in each user account that will be used for Mac log-in. Using a static UID by mapping it to an attribute in Active Directory prevents these potential issues, and it may be a solution that you have already implemented for other Unix systems in your network. This can be problematic if you have any Mac servers (or even individual Macs with file sharing enabled) because user access to files on those servers will change each time they use a different computer despite the fact that they are using the same Active Directory account. Each time a user logs in on a different Mac, he will have a different UID. Mac OS X can search multiple directory configurations in a specified path when a user attempts to log in.ĭynamic UID generation is much easier and requires no action on the part of the systems administrator. You will also need to configure the search path of available directories to include Active Directory using the Authentication tab in the Directory Access tool. You’ll need an Active Directory account with permission to join the computer to the domain if the account was not created in advance, you’ll need authority to create it. The process of using the plug-in to join a Mac to an Active Directory domain is straightforward, and is similar to joining a Windows computer to a domain. You can also enable mobile accounts for portable computers and designate a preferred domain controller if needed. It can also grant users administrator access to a Mac workstation based on their Active Directory group membership. It supports forests with multiple domains, domain controller fail-over and can automount a user’s home directory. The Active Directory plug-in works fairly well. Apple’s Active Directory plug-in uses LDAP to query Active Directory. Beginning in Mac OS X Panther (10.3), Apple introduced a plug-in to its Directory Access utility that allows you to configure authentication against Active Directory. The lowest-cost solution is to use Apple’s built-in Active Directory support. If you are using a proprietary service port, you will need to first create the service port object. Scroll down to the "Bandwidth Shaping" option and set the Priority to 1 (highest priority).Under the "Criteria" option(s) for the BWM rule scroll down to the Service Object option and select SIP.To create a bandwidth management rule allowing VoIP traffic priority, click the Add button. All other traffic will have a priority of 7 based on the default BWM rule. Check the box to enable the bandwidth management ( Enable BWM) feature and apply the settings.Īll rules created by user will have a higher priority, depending on user configuration. Login to the router's web configuration page and go to menu, Configuration( ) → BWM. The Zyxel routers can only prioritize outgoing internet traffic they cannot prioritize incoming internet traffic. This guide will provide instructions on creating a QoS rule to prioritize VoIP as well as prioritizing traffic for specific device(s). One of the main reasons users enable bandwidth management (QoS) is to prioritize VoIP traffic. This guide will provide two scenarios for setting up QoS. |
